Investing in Product Photography – A Great Way to Boost Sales and Develop Your Business

KitchenAid Artisan

If you have a retail business, I’m sure you’ll be using lots of different techniques to try and make as many sales as you can. You might be devoting lots of time to writing compelling descriptions of your products. You’ll also be thinking about how best to use different marketing channels to get your products ‘out there’ and in front of your potential customers.

But there’s also something else that you can do – something that can often be overlooked…

…and that’s investing in some high-quality photos of your products.

So, Why Is Professional Product Photography So Important?

Well, there’s actually a number of reasons why it’s crucial for many businesses….

1.    Your customers get a clear image of the products and this helps them to decide what to spend their hard-earned money on – particularly important for online shoppers.

2.    Your sales can increase significantly, helping to develop and grow your business.

3.    High-quality photography can help to build brand identity.

4.    It can help people to develop increased trust in your business.

5.    Your brand becomes much more visible across multiple platforms – did you know that people are far more likely to share content that contains images via social media channels?

And, as they say, “a picture paints a thousand words” - high quality creative imagery can be incredibly powerful – it can really make people stop and look at what you’re selling – and it can help promote how professional your business is.

So, whether you run a large store or a small online business, through a site like Etsy, investing in some great shots can really show your customers that you mean business.

It’s all about showing your products in the best way possible and ensuring that the lighting and setting is absolutely spot on – get this right and you can be well on your way to boosting your sales, developing your brand and growing your business.

We work with this client to take a wide range of photos of their products. These images are then featured across different marketing materials / channels, including e-catalogues, printed catalogues, exhibition stands, websites and social media. That’s one of the great things about investing in professional product photography – the images can be used again and again.

Before work is carried out, we work closely with our clients so that an accurate brief can be determined – this ensures excellent results, every time. We may produce shots of products on a clean, white background, or perhaps some creative lifestyle images. And if clients are not sure what will work best, we use our extensive experience to talk through different options, offer advice and ultimately produce photos that provide the results that clients are looking for.

Work for Dunelm Mill website

It was great for us to have the opportunity to work on images for the Dunelm Mill website (https://www.dunelm.com).

This work involved:

·      Taking photos in a professional studio in Blackburn.

·      Having a light-controlled environment to ensure consistent results.

·      Production of a wide range of high-quality images taken with our professional equipment.

·      Advanced lighting and camera techniques used to produce sharp high-resolution photos.

·      Post-processing techniques, resulting in fantastic striking images of the products – on a pure white background when needed, with accurate colour grading.

With our photos, end consumers can be confident that the products they receive will accurately match what they’ve viewed on screen, or within a catalogue.

When we’re producing lifestyle advertising images, we know just how to build the perfect set for them. For culinary imagery, we will often use a food stylist – this attention to detail ensures striking photos, every time.

We really get to know our clients…

Something that we pride ourselves on at Myers Creative is the relationships that we build with our clients. We get to know their business and exactly what they’d like to achieve. This then allows us to identify the right style of photography to meet their needs. We also find that working with regular clients often results in jobs being carried out in a much more cost-effective way.
